Coach's Corner
"What can I say, the boys battled their tails off today," said Head Coach Daniel Finn. "I'll give a lot of credit to Georgia Gwinnett, as they have a great team and there is a reason they have won over 100 matches in a row. Ultimately the match today came down to doubles. We had the points out there but everything had to go right for us. We fought hard and had our chances but just did not come away with the big points at crucial times, and anytime a match is that close, those little points can be the difference. With that said, I'm extremely proud of the way the boys battled even when they went down 3-0. Nobody gave up, everyone fought until the last ball was hit and there is honor in that. The score won't reflect how competitive that match was, and it is a real shame that it was a quarterfinal match as the quality of play was much higher. Regardless and lastly, I want to say thank you to our senior Arthur (Bonnaud). For the last four years he has given his heart and soul to the program and helped build something special besides his own legacy. It was a real shame to have to play that match in the quarterfinals but I'm very proud of how much blood, sweat, and tears we left out there. All year we fought through ups and downs and were trying to define our culture. Despite the loss today I can confidently say we have found back our identity and the boys should hang their heads high for the results here this year. The future is very bright for this tennis team."
