Big Second Half Propels Men's Soccer on Senior Day, 6-1

The Keiser men's soccer team triumphed over Webber International on senior day by a final score of 6-1. The Seahawks recognized Edwin Ahlnas, Alex Bredberg, Joan Carles Perez, Nicolas Gomez, Conor Lessin, Giorgio Resnati, Ramon Talenti, David Cruz, Evan Finnegan, and Jake Stanton.

How it Happened
  • Webber struck first in the 24th minute when David Negrin Ruiz scored off a through ball from Rodri Flores Iraheta.
  • The Seahawks nearly scored the equalizer in the 35th minute but Miguel Cruz Zarraluqui's header went off the crossbar and cleared out of play.
  • Keiser tied the game in the 56th minute when Resnati lasered the ball into the back of the net from 30 yards out off an assist from Cruz Zarraluqui.
  • Just two minutes later, Adrian Camacho Castro put the Seahawks in front with his eighth goal of the year off a nice cross from Finnegan.
  • In the 66th minute, Ciro Damine made it 3-1 as he found the back of the net on an unassisted goal.
  • Damine's one-touch volley off a cross from Juan Francisco Diaz extended the Seahawks advantage to 4-1 with 20 minutes remaining in regulation.
  • Less than a minute later, Damine completed his hat-trick off an excellent pass from Esteban Aguilera as the margin stood at 5-1.
  • Moritz Bange put the finishing touches on the 6-1 victory in the 84th minute with a perfect header off a corner by Finnegan.

Game Notes
  • Keiser improves to 15-5 all-time against the Warriors, winning the last eight meetings.
  • Finnegan is just one assist shy of tying the all-time record for assists in a career.
  • Damine recorded a hat-trick in just 25 minutes of play during the second half.
  • All six of the Seahawk goals came during the second half of play.
  • The Seahawks outshot the Warriors 36-5 and held a 13-3 edge on shots on goal.
  • Camacho Castro led the way with seven shots with three on target.
