No. 9 Women’s Lacrosse Runs Past Newberry For Fifth Consecutive Win

Keiser Highlights
  • Eleven different Seahawks recorded at least one goal, while seven players had multi-goal performances. 
  • Jordan Sullivan paced the offense with a game-best four goals, while  Madalyn Huber and Hayley Mazreku each netted hat tricks on the afternoon.
  • With Mazreku's goal at the 25:17 mark of the second half, the transfer junior has now scored 100-career goals.
  • The Seahawks edged the Wolves 20-6 on draw controls with Kyli Towner recording a game-best seven.
  • Huber led the defensive charge with a game-best four caused turnovers and had a game-high five ground balls.
  • Mary Reich received her first start of the year in goal, recording three saves before Mickey Sherrill manned the net for the final 22 minutes.

Turning Point
The Seahawks trailed 2-0 within the first two minutes of the game before scoring a dozen unanswered goals to take a commanding double-digit lead.

How it Happened
  • The Wolves jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Seahawks stormed back with 12 consecutive goals to take a 12-2 advantage with 7:45 remaining in the opening half.
  • In that stretch, eight Keiser players found the back of the net including a pair of goals from Raymond, Mazreku, Huber, and Sullivan.
  • Newberry broke the run with an unassisted goal but Kimberly Dornseif and Zdun netted a goal each to give the Seahawks a 14-3 advantage at the break.
  • Keiser tallied the first five goals of the second half, ballooning the margin to 19-3 before the Wolves scored their final goal of the game with 8:43 remaining. 
  • The Seahawks beat the keeper three more times including the finishing touches from defender Amanda Antles off a great feed by Sullivan, winning the game 22-4.
