Turning Point
Keiser had the potential game-winning run on third in the seventh inning of a tied game with just one out. However, Emerson Yakle retired the next two Seahawks, sending the game into extra innings, where KU fell, 4-3.
How it Happened
- Columbia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on Molly Carter's double to left with nobody out.
- The Seahawks were held hitless until the fourth when Miller led off with a double to left center. Keiser then made it a one-run game as Cheyenne Blumberg and Dominguez delivered back-to-back doubles.
- Two batters later, Keiser capitalized on an error by the shortstop to equalize the contest.
- KU claimed their first lead of the game in the fifth after Kelsey Brodbeck led off with a single to short and swiped second. Following a groundout that moved her to third, Miller pushed her across with a sacrifice fly to right.
- However, the Cougars came right back in the sixth scoring the tying run on a wild pitch, before Keiser threatened to win the game in the home half of the seventh.
- Bermari Figueroa reached on a one-out double to center before moving up to third on a passed ball. However, the next two batters were retired via a pop out to short and a strikeout, sending the game to extra innings.
- Columbia started the eight with a runner on second due to the international tiebreaker in effect. Green retired the first two batters by strikeout before a passed ball moved Hurley to third. Carter then drilled a single to left to claim a 4-3 advantage.
- In the bottom half, Keiser was retired in order with the final out coming through a caught stealing at third.

Leading by a run in the sixth inning, Test came through for the Seahawks with two key insurance runs with her one-out single, pushing Keiser out in front, 5-2.

How it Happened
- The Seahawks took a 1-0 lead in the first on Miller's one-out single to right field, driving in Brodbeck who reached on a leadoff infield single.
- The margin was pushed to two an inning later when Thompson came in to score on Brodbeck's two-out RBI single to third.
- Keiser upped the advantage to 3-0 in the third when Dominguez roped a one-out single through the right side, scoring pinch-runner Alanie Cora.
- Following Emily Draper's leadoff triple down the right field line, the Eagles got a run back on Jennah McElheney's one-out single to left.
- Reinhardt then closed within one an inning later on Autumn Bible's two-out RBI single through the left side.
- After both teams were held scoreless in the fifth, the Seahawks struck for three runs in the sixth to jump ahead 6-2.
- Following a one-out double by Figueroa and an infield single from Brodbeck, Test drove in both runners with a single to left and advanced all the way to third on a defensive miscue by the left fielder.
- Test then scored the final run of the ballgame as she came in on Miller's RBI single.
- Green shut down the Eagles offense in the sixth and seventh innings, preserving the 6-2 win.
