Game 1
Keiser Highlights
  • Tonight's win is the first time in school history that the Seahawks have won their season opener. It is also the first win under new head coach Terri Knecht.
  • The Seahawks outhit the Warriors 10-7, led by a game high two hits from A. Miller and Baines.
  • Keiser was aggressive on the bases, stealing eight times with two coming from Brodbeck and Garceau.
  • Allison Williams picked up the win, throwing a complete game with two strikeouts and just allowing a pair of runs.

Turning Point
The turning point came in the bottom of the first when the Seahawks scored two runs to take the early 2-0 lead. Cassidy Miller started the scoring with a single through the right side, plating Kelsey Brodbeck. Avery Miller delivered the other run on a single down the left field line scoring C. Miller.

How it Happened
  • Keiser started the game quick, plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Brodbeck led off with a walk and then stole second. After a groundout to the shortstop moved Brodbeck to third, C. Miller delivered the season's first run, with her single. With two outs, A. Miller singled to extend the advantage to 2-0.
  • The Seahawks tacked on two more runs in the third inning. Bermari Figueroa walked and advanced to third on a single to center by Aquaria Baines.
  • A. Miller then plated Figueroa on a fielder's choice, and Alyssa Cabral capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to center, making it 4-0.
  • Indiana Tech loaded the bases in the fourth with one out, and took advantage of an error by the shortstop, scoring two runs, trimming the deficit to 4-2. However, A. Williams limited the damage by getting a groundout to first and a fly out to left. The Seahawks then answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
  • After the first two batters were retired, Kristen Garceau roped a single to right field. Garceau then stole second and third and scored on a single by Figueroa to lead 5-2. Baines cleared the bases with a single up the middle, pushing the advantage to 7-2.
  • A. Williams would do the rest and now allow the Warriors to score again, securing the 7-2 season opening win.

Game 2
Keiser Highlights
  • Keiser collected ten hits on the night, led by two from Garceau, C. Miller, and Figueroa.
  • Riley Caylor suffered the loss on the mound despite striking out four and walking just one batter.
  • Garceau led the way on the base paths with two stolen bases for the second consecutive game.

Turning Point
The turning point in the game occurred in the sixth with the Seahawks leading Point 3-1. After Caylor got the initial batter to ground out, Point used an RBI single to left center and a bases clearing double to left center to take their first lead of the game at 4-3. Keiser mounted a seventh inning comeback but had the game tying run thrown out at home to end the game.

How it Happened
  • Garceau led off the contest with a single down the left field line and then stole second. Following the first out, C. Miller moved Garceau to third on a single to second.
  • A wild pitch followed, scoring the games first run. Figueroa pushed C. Miller across on a full-count single to left center, making it 2-0.
  • Point cut the deficit in half in the bottom half, with a single to right by Ariana Boutwell scoring Amber Anderson who reached on a triple.
  • A. Miller led off the fourth with a second pitch double to center and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Cabral. Cheyanne Blumberg picked up her first collegiate RBI with a single to short, upping the margin to 3-1.
  • The Skyhawks took their first lead of the game in the sixth inning. After a first pitch groundout, Point singled three straight times to get within 3-2. Lacy Striblin connected on a 2-2 pitch, doubling to left center, putting Point in front 4-3.
  • Caylor limited the damage, getting the Skyhawks to line out to short which turned into an inning ending double play. A seventh inning rally by the Seahawks came up just short in the end.
  • Troiana Test walked on four straight pitches and Garceau lined the first pitch she saw up the middle, to have runners on first and second with nobody out. After a strikeout, a double steal moved both runners up a base. However, Point got a game ending double play after a lineout to the shortstop and the shortstop fired home to get the runner trying to score from third, preserving the 4-3 victory.
