The Seahawks softball team dropped a pair of conference road games on Saturday afternoon to South Carolina Beaufort. Keiser moves to 14-24 overall and 2-10 in Sun Conference games.
Game 1: The Seahawks fell in a close one to USCB 7-6.
- The Sand Sharks struck first with four runs in the first before Keiser got on the board in the third. With one out, Shanah Thomas doubled to left and stole third. An RBI groundout to the second basemen by Heather Shapiro made it 4-1. The Seahawks then plated two runs in the sixth getting to within 4-3.
- Cassidy Miller doubled to left field to lead off and came around to score on an RBI double down the left field line by Meagan Flores making it 4-2. Tara Coletti followed with an RBI single through the right side cutting it to 4-3.
- In the seventh, S. Thomas reached on an error by the third basemen and scored on a Shapiro double to right center tying the game at 4-4. A USCB error put Keiser in front 5-4 and a Jaryaca Baker RBI single to second upped the lead to 6-4. However, the Sand Sharks pushed three across in the bottom half to win the game 7-6.
- Riley Caylor threw a complete while allowing just six hits. Coletti led the way with two hits.
Game 2: South Carolina Beaufort defeated Keiser 6-2.
- Keiser got on the board first with a pair of runs in the third. S. Thomas led off with a single to third and moved to second on a wild pitch. A Shapiro double down the left field line made it 1-0 and a C. Miller RBI groundout to the shortstop pushed the margin to 2-0.
- The Sand Sharks pushed a run across in the fourth, fifth and four in the sixth to win 6-2.
- Avery Miller and Alyssa Cabral led the way with two hits apiece.
