The Keiser University softball team fell to NCAA Division II Barry University in a pair of exhibition games at home on Sunday afternoon.
Game OneThe Buccaneers scored a run in the first and four in the third taking a 5-0 lead. The score remained the same until the seventh when
Cassidy Miller hit a three run homer to left center platting
Shanah Thomas and
Ryleigh Williams making it 5-3. However, Keiser couldn't get any closer falling by that same score.
Riley Caylor pitched five innings with one strikeout, while
Allison Williams threw two innings in relief with one strikeout.
Game TwoBarry struck first with four runs in the first inning before the Seahawks matched them in bottom half of the inning. A fielder's choice pushed the first run across and then a three run homer to left field by
Jaryaca Rosario knotted it at 4-4. The Buccaneers answered with a run in the second, and five in the third extending their lead to 10-4. Catapano picked up her second RBI of the game in the fifth with a double to left field scoring
Heather Shapiro cutting it to 10-5. However,the game was then called due to lighting.Â
