The #1 Northwood women's golf team is the 2015 NAIA National Champions, and second in school history last coming in 2003. The Seahawks led the tournament three out of the four rounds before pulling away on the final day winning by 22 strokes.

The Seahawks finished the tournament at 59 over par (308, 301, 306, 296) for a team score of 1211. Behind them was a three way tie for second place including William Woods, SCAD, and Dalton State at 81 over par. Julia McQuilken of Dalton State was the individual champion finishing at four over par.

The 59-over par, 1211 as a team is tied for the third-best 72-hole total in NAIA history—behind last year's 1209 by Oklahoma City and SCAD Savannah (Ga.).

Elsa Westin led the way as the tournament runner up at nine over par finishing the final round at even par. Caroline Retabi was named to the All-Tournament team finishing in a tie for seventh at 15 over par. Sabrina Schloo was also named All-Tournament coming in a tie for 15th at 18 over.

Bri LaFoca and Rebecka Holmstrom each recorded their lowest rounds of the tournament on the final day with two over par performances.

Following the tournament, Head Coach Brandon Miller was named NAIA Coach of the Year.

Brandon Miller - "It has been an incredible season. This team deserves this National Championship. From the very first practice we had a felling it could be a special season. All eleven of our players are model student-athletes on the golf course and in the classroom. This win belongs to all eleven players on our roster, each of them has played a major part in our success in many ways. It will be sad to see Brianna, our lone senior graduating, but what an incredible way for her to go out. I'm already excited for next season, we will be returning four players from this National Championship lineup, and I know we have six other players all equally capable of playing National Championship caliber golf. It will be an exciting few years in Seahawk Nation!"

Caroline Retabi –" It was an incredible season, we fought for this entire year and never gave up even when it was hard and we made it. I'm so proud to be a part of this team."

Sabrina Schloo – "This was the best end possible for this incredible year. We played great golf all year and I am really proud to be a part of this team."

Bri LaFoca – "I don't think there was another team that wanted to win the national championship more than we did, for many reasons. We struggled the first three rounds but brought it together for the last. I couldn't ask for a better way to end my collegiate golf career or a better, more united team to be a part of! I am so proud to call myself a Lady Seahawk!"

Rebecka Holmstrom – "I cant describe with words how proud I am over this team, we have been fighting for this all year and I cant believe that we actually made it all the way. This is one of the best moments in my life!

Elsa Westin – "Words can't describe how proud I am over our team and everything we have accomplished together. This win proves how much we support each other on and off the golf course. "
