WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Northwood University men's soccer team suffered their first loss in the Sun Conference as they fell 3-0 to host SCAD on Friday.

The Seahawks dropped to 5-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the Sun Conference.

Meanwhile, SCAD improved to 7-2-1 overall and 4-0-1 in conference play.

The Seahawks battled throughout the first half before SCAD pulled ahead with nearly three minutes left before halftime as a shot hit off a Northwood player and into the net.

SCAD scored twice in the second half on goals by Jake Prescott and Will Oswin.

Dawson made eight saves in net for the Seahawks.

"Our performance today was way off the mark," Seahawks men's soccer head coach Joe Zakowicz said. " To be fair, we took our opponents too lightly and they punished us for our poor approach to this game.  They dominated us physically as well as in every statistical category.  We will need a massive change for the matchup with highly ranked Thomas on Sunday."

The Seahawks were unbeaten in their last four games and it was their first loss since they fell in double overtime to Bellevue on September 18.

The Seahawks will look to bounce back as they travel to square off against Thomas(Ga.) on Sunday, October 19 at 2 p.m.
