It was a special day for the Keiser University baseball program as starting pitcher
Steven Bruce was signed by the Texas Rangers. This is the first Seahawk player to be signed on by a professional baseball team.
Bruce a recent graduate of Keiser University and a native of Flower Mound, Texas transferred to the Seahawks from Northwood Texas and Oklahoma. In his two years with the team, Steven was a combined 16-0 in 22 starts with one complete game, while striking out 137 batters over 146 innings pitched.
This season as the ace, Bruce went a perfect 9-0 with a 2.73 ERA and 92 strikeouts. Steven is also a two time First Team All-Conference selection, First Team All-American, and the reigning Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year.
